Depending on how you use the App or Service, you may provide:
 

Weight & Balance App

  • Aircraft profiles and configuration data

  • Passenger names, weights, and seat assignments

  • Crew names and roles

  • Flight leg details (origin, destination, mission notes, times)
     

Local-Only Use:

When the App is used without the API or cloud-sync features, all data remains on your device and is not transmitted to any server.


If you choose to use API features, cloud sync, or integrate with your organization's DataHangar account, the following may be stored on DataHangar servers:
 

  • User account information

  • Rostering data

  • Flight & duty logs

  • Training records

  • SMS/safety reports

  • Aircraft and maintenance data
     

Using the API or cloud features is optional and not required to operate the App.
 

2. Automatically Collected Information
 

The App and Service may collect:
 

  • Device type and OS version

  • Crash logs and performance metrics

  • Non-personal usage analytics
     

When the App is used offline without API features enabled, no data is transmitted to any server.
 

3. How We Use Your Information
 

We use collected information to:
 

  • Perform accurate weight & balance calculations

  • Generate manifests and flight leg records

  • Provide optional cloud syncing and API features

  • Support organisational workflows for operators who choose server integration

  • Improve app stability and security
     

We do not sell or rent personal information.
 

4. Data Storage & Security
 

4.1 Local Data Storage (Default Behaviour)
 

By default, all data you enter into the Weight & Balance App is stored locally on your device only.

No data leaves your device unless you explicitly enable API, cloud-sync, or organisational integration.
 

4.2 Server Storage (Optional)
 

If you choose to use API functionality:
 

  • Certain data may be securely transmitted to DataHangar servers

  • Data is stored in encrypted databases in [region]

  • Access requires authenticated API or account credentials
     

Using the cloud/online API is optional and not required for core app functionality.
 

5. Data Sharing
 

We only share data in the following situations:
 

  • If you choose to use API functionality, your operator or organisation may access flight or manifest data as part of their DataHangar system.

  • With contracted third-party service providers (hosting, infrastructure), who are required to keep data secure.

  • If required by law.
     

We never share data with advertisers or unrelated third parties.
 

6. Your Choices & Rights
 

You may:

  • Use the App entirely offline with no server interaction

  • Delete all locally stored data at any time

  • Enable or disable API/cloud features

  • Request deletion of server-side data (if applicable)

  • Export or access your records

7. Data Retention
 

  • Local-only data remains solely on your device until deleted by you.

  • Server-side data (optional) is retained according to operator policies and applicable aviation record-keeping requirements.
